Our history
Indoscan (Pvt) Limited is a Family Owned and Managed, frontline healthcare enterprise launched in 1989 headed by its founder Mr.Ananda Samarasinghe, the current Chairman. We are focused on personalised and professional services to the end user, through the Medical Professionals, Medical Institutions and the Pharmacy outlets across the country. Centrally located in the city of Colombo, Sri Lanka with temperature controlled large storage space and transport facilities
We have ensured the accessibility and the availability of our products and services across the Country through a wide net-work of effective distribution. Over 35 years of wide experience in healthcare services of the Leadership, supported by a Professional and dedicated Team both, in- house and on the field has been the secret of our success.
35 Years of Strength & Heritage
Mr. Ananda Samarasinghe commenced his career as a junior Trainee Medical Representative in 1969 representing Burroughs Wellcome of UK. Covering over 50years experience in healthcare product marketing sector of Sri Lanka, he has the unique and probably sole identity as the only individual to introduce Manufacturers with their product lines to Sri Lanka for the first time (not represented by any other Company before). To list the Manufacturers he has introduced to Sri Lanka are; Lyka Labs India, Lupin Laboratories India, Nordisk Laboratories of Denmark, Boehringer Mannheim – Germany, Lundbeck of Denmark, Staten Serum Institute of Denmark, Taisho- Hoe Pharmaceuticals, Malaysia, Peters Surgical France, Delacroix Chevelier of France and YSP Industries of Malaysia. We are proud to mention the new molecules Mr.Samarasinghe has successfully introduced include Euglucon by Boehriner, Septrin by Burroughs Wellcome and Nordisk Insulin Pen

regulatory
The new government regulations, drafted, implemented and monitored by the newly formed National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) followed by the dossier submission as per CTD format and the new proposed price controls have new and greater challenges to the Regulatory Department. Our regulatory outfit consisting of a qualified pharmacists who are heading the Regulatory team to deal with all these challenges as they have years of experience in dealing with the CDDA & NMRA, joined with the in- depth updated knowledge of international guidelines and quality assurance standards.
Training
Indoscan is one of the very few Agency Houses in the country that conducts a scientific, structured and comprehensive training programs for Medical Representative inductees. This program is under the guidance of a full time training manager who conducts intensive introduction to basic sciences as well as pharmacology to the new recruits so that their interactions with the medical professionals will be scientific based rather than being purely marketing oriented. In addition, periodic refresher training is carried out for the field staff so that they are always updated with the latest breakthroughs pertaining to the pharmaceuticals that they market.

The company maintains a NMRA – GDP certified three warehouse complexes. The entire stores operation is under the purview of a Senior Manager assisted by a team.. Clearly defined standard operating guidelines and adherence to such procedures have contributed to the high quality warehouse complex
sales and distribution
Company has a distributor network geared to handle voluminous sales across the country, covering a network of approximately 3,750 Pharmacies and Hospitals. A team of over 5 company employed sales personnel reach out to Retailers over timely intervals, with the support of over 14 Company designated distributors.
information systems
As a pioneering effort, a copyrighted Technology driven Software is in operation to analyse the productivity of Pharmaceutical marketers employed by the Company. This is a tailor-made solution that is customized to the operations of INDOSCAN. The entire network of distributors are interlined through a unique in-house Software System via (ERP), designed to meet specific needs of the Company and to obtain timely sales data to improve understand the market dynamics at the point of sale.
